Traktor Nusantara (TRAKNUS) welcomed its 50th Anniversary through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program flagship TRAKNUS Rindang held a planting of 500 mangrove tree seedlings. This activity is an important momentum to celebrate the global commemoration held annually on June 5 as World Environment Day, as well as a noble goal in increasing awareness and responsibility to participate in preserving the environment.

The success of TRAKNUS Menanam is inseparable from the collaboration with the Indonesian Mountain Guides Association (APGI) which took the planting location at Mangrove Ecotourism Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta on Saturday, June 1, 2024. This activity was also attended by HCSSEHSGA Division Head Iman Nurcahyo with 28 people involved, namely from TRAKNUS representatives 10 people, representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) 2 people, representatives of tour guide certification institutions 1 person, APGI representatives 3 people, and 12 other people who are APGI affiliated volunteers.

In his speech, Iman Nurcahyo revealed, “Through this mangrove seedling planting program, TRAKNUS seeks to have a positive impact on the local environment and ecosystem. TRAKNUS pledges to protect the environment and contribute positively to the community by improving air quality along with soil conservation, as a form of participation for a sustainable future.”

Subdirectorate of Utilization of Nature Tourism Environmental Services in Conservation Areas of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) represented by Susana expressed “appreciation for the multi-stakeholder collaboration that was well established through mangrove seedling planting activities initiated by TRAKNUS. An effort to support the Indonesian government program to achieve Net Zero Carbon in 2060. “ 

“We are grateful to TRAKNUS for the willingness to organize mangrove seedling planting in the PIK Mangrove Ecotourism Area, North Jakarta. Initiatives like this contribute to the realization of creating and maintaining a sustainable environment. We believe that these efforts are important in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem and ensuring the survival of a greener earth. We hope this spirit of kindness will continue, encouraging more bio-conservation measures in the future,” said APGI Jakarta Chairman Syarif Hidayat.

Before the planting process began, Syarif Hidayat, accompanied by Kang Yana, explained the correct method of planting mangrove seedlings. The goal is to maximize the success of rehabilitation, ecosystem protection, erosion control, and carbon sequestration.

During the planting process, Kang Yana guided and assisted directly and also provided insight into mangrove ecology. During the activity, participants were invited to see how the mangrove trees that had been planted were able to grow shady and become a habitat for monkeys, signaling the beauty and health of the environment, as well as an ecosystem that supports biological life in a sustainable manner. In addition, participants also learned how planting mangroves in muddy areas can protect coastal areas from damage due to natural disasters.

With the spirit of care for the environment shown through this mangrove planting activity, TRAKNUS provides tangible evidence of the importance of corporate social responsibility in preserving nature. These steps not only provide directly visible ecological benefits, but also create awareness of the importance of environmental preservation for the survival of us all. Hopefully, this effort can inspire us to take more part in keeping our earth green and sustainable for generations to come.
